Bikini—After 50 years, Bikini Atoll, home of some of the most
significant, untouched warships in history, is open to advanced divers. Attractions include the
only diveable aircraft carrier in the world—the USS Saratoga, battleships—HIJMS Nagato and
USS Arkansas, destroyers, submarines and more. In addition to normal "air" in single/double
tanks, Marshalls Dive Adventures provides "HiTech" support with Nitrox/TriMix gas
blending capabilities, and "Tech" instruction. For safe, comfortable diving, the 43–foot twin
diesel powered dive boat "Bravo" offers—full electronics, fresh water, oxygen, private head,
fresh water rinse, camera tables, tank racks, extra wide "walk through" transom. The entire aft
section is completely hard covered to keep you cool. On Bikini, surrounded by tranquil white
sandy beaches and coconut palms, double rooms have 110v electricity, 24 hours fresh water,
and most are air conditioned. Meals are well balanced and varied. Special dietary requests are
no problem. For history, wrecks and adventure Bikini offers a truly unique experience that
cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world.

Guam—Gateway to western Pacific and Asia as well as Micronesia's
outer islands—a vacation playland with luxury hotels, splendid beaches, exciting watersports
and good diving inside/outside the deep water harbor.
Arpa Harbor—Gigantic and several miles long, it reaches depths in excess of
150 feet. Protected from ocean swells and wind, surface conditions are quite calm and
consistent. Underwater visibility ranges from 50 to 75 feet. Some of Guam's best shipwreck
and shallow reef dives are within Apra Harbor. The Tokai Maru, a 465–foot WWII Japanese
cargo vessel, torpedoed in 1943, now lies on her port side in 138 feet of water. Less than six
feet away is the stern of another shipwreck—the SMS Cormoran, a 335–foot WWI German
auxiliary cruiser, deliberately scuttled by her crew in 1917. Another popular wreck is the
272–foot long WWII Japanese freighter, Kitsugawa Maru. The deck gun is still mounted on
her bow and diving depths range from 60 to 130 feet. Other wrecks include—American
Tanker, Salvage Tug, Seaplane Wreck and Japanese Dive Bomber. In addition, Arpa Harbor
offers shallow and deep coral reefs loaded with exotic marine life.
Blue Hole—Guam is perhaps best known for the Blue Hole a cylindrical shaft
that drops from a barren limestone bottom at 60 feet to a depth of approximately 300 feet. At
130 feet a "window" opens to the sea, allowing an exit and ascent up the outer wall. Colorful
seafans grow inside the hole and bluewater pelagics are often seen on the outside. Visibility
can be more than 100 feet.
The Crevice—opens up in the same sloping hard bottom area. The canyon
floor leading to the vertical wall reaches a depth of 160 feet. A giant rock formation in the
center rises to 130 feet. Yellow and orange seafans protrude from this giant boulder.
Other dive sites include Shark Pit—combination coral reef and junkyard, this
was the dumping ground for WWII. Divers will encounter coral encrusted trucks, Jeeps,
amtracs and various hardware. Coral Gardens near Anae Island is a lovely
spot for underwater photographers, with depths from 3 to 30 feet.
Guam Accommodations—
Royal Orchid, 6 nights * 5 dive days *
$876.
Guam Marriott, 6 nights * 5 dive days *
$990.

Kosrae—Beautiful, gentle Kosrae, the undiscovered Micronesia. An
exceptionally beautiful island, with a high mountain ridge that rises 2,000 feet above sea
level, its flanks are covered by a dense tropical forest where edible fruits grow wild. Kosrae's
greatest attraction is the clear, clean ocean and living coral reefs that completely encircle it.
Somewhat triangular in shape, good dive sites are found on all sides. Regardless of which
way the wind blows or seas run, Kosrae always has a calm side on which to dive. Underwater
visibility averages 100 feet or better. During August, visibility can reach up to 200 feet! Reefs
are populated with all kinds of exotic marine invertebrates, carpet anemones, crinoids of
every conceivable color, all kinds of shrimp, crabs, nudibranch and starfish. The teeming reef
life has attracted all kinds of reef fish. A diver could observe 30 to 50 different species on a
single dive. Kosrae also has a large population of turtles—during the December mating season
their numbers seem to grow into the thousands. A resident school of 150 dolphins cruises the
blue water outside the barrier reef. These marvelous mammals can be observed jumping and
spinning as though exhibiting pure joy. Quiet, quaint atmosphere, friendly and courteous
people, Kosrae is a great vacation experience.
Kosrae Accommodations—
Kosrae Village Resort, 3 nights * 2 dive days
* $342.
Kosrae Nautilus Resort, 3 nights * 2 dive
days * $423.
Includes airport/hotel transfers * All prices are per person, double occupancy plus tax and subject

Pohnpei—High mountain peaks pierce the blue sky. Land is covered
with thick carpet of tropical vegetation. Both mysterious and beautiful island, Pohnpei is
blessed with cascading waterfalls, lush rainforests and high cliffs. Approximately one-half
mile off shore, a coral barrier reef encircles the island. Trapped inside the barrier are hundreds
of shallow coral reefs, channels and islets. Beyond the barrier reef, the bottom drops away to
6,000 feet, forming a vertical wall of coral, Gorgonian fans in an array of color—some grow to
a height of 20 feet, soft corals and sponges. The inside lagoon sites are ideal for novice divers
or underwater photographers who wish to spend a longer time photographing fish and corals.
The vertical walls on the outside are for experienced divers who seek super clear water and
big fish action. Pohnpei is especially known for its amazing variety and abundance of
crinoids. They come in a multitude of colors and often cluster in groups of six or eight.
The Lost City of Nan Madol—Not all of Pohnpei's attractions lie underwater.
A lost city made of oddly constructed stone logs sits at the edge of the sea—partly shrouded by
jungle and crisscrossed by a labyrinth of man made stone canals. Abandoned hundreds of
years ago, Nan Madol remains an unexplained archaeological mystery. No one really knows
who built it, how it was built, why it was built in such an odd way, or why it was eventually
abandoned. The major buildings are constructed of giant stone logs, 18 feet long and several
feet in diameter. Each stone weighs about two and one half tons. Logs are stacked in
crisscross fashion to form walls 40 feet high and 14–18 feet thick. A boat tour of this silent
city is an awesome experience.

$271.
Pohnpei Village, 3 nights * 2 dive days *
$338.
Includes airport/hotel transfers * All prices are per person, double occupancy plus tax and subject

Saipan—Once the site of a historic WWII invasion, this tropical
vacation paradise is best known for its WWII artifacts—inluding sunken tanks, planes and
ships. It is also home of the world famous Blue Grotto.
Blue Grotto—Saipan's most unusual dive experience and truly an
extraordinary natural formation. Reached by dive van or car, a walk down 103 stone steps
carved into the rock formation leads to an awesome underground cavern with a high, domed
ceiling. The bottom part of the cavern is a luminescent blue pool of seawater—lit by sunlight
streaming through two underwater tunnels. The pool, roughly 100 feet in diameter slopes
down to a depth of 60 feet. Tunnels lead from the pool to the open ocean, where they exit
onto the face of a vertical wall. Underwater visibility is generally 150 feet. The outside
vertical wall has an interesting array of seafans and marine life, including schooling jacks and
whitetip sharks.
Tanapag Harbor—A major wreck diving area, an estimated 18 Japanese ships
were sunk and many remain undiscovered. Diving depths in Tanapag Harbor range from 17
to 35 feet. It is an excellent area for snorkeling, beginner divers and underwater
photographers. The sea floor of this harbor is littered with WWII wrecks—a Japanese
Seaplane, Multi–engine Bomber, Sub Chaser, Zero Fighter and Landing Craft. Shoan
Maru—The most interesting shipwreck is the Shoan Maru, a 407–foot long WWII
Japanese freighter torpedoed in 1944. The other big wreck in the area is the Cement
Wreck—a 350–foot long concrete supply barge that lies in 20 feet of water with parts of
the deck awash. Underwater visibility in the harbor area is generally 70 feet.
Interesting snorkeling opportunities in the ocean lagoon along Saipan's hotel row include two
American tanks sitting in eight feet of water off the Diamond Hotel.

Tinian & Rota—Tinian possesses a rare natural
resource—crystal clear waters filled with a fascinating array of fish and marine life. Most
Tinian dive sites are right up against the shoreline, 20–50 yards from the bluffs. The bottom
slopes away very quickly to deep water. At least 18 excellent sites have been discovered and
charted.
North Point—A most interesting dive site! The northwest side of the island
appears to have been a giant dumping ground for WWII equipment—which was pushed off the
cliff. Average diving depth is 35 feet, and underwater visibility is crystal clear—exceeding 100
feet. Among the artifacts that litter the bottom are Japanese tanks with treads still in place,
trucks with rubber tires intact, bullets and shell casings of all sizes. Swimming along this
debris are many exotic tropicals including Lionfish and Moorish Idols. Carolinas Point on the
west side offers a vertical drop off with quite a bit of shark action. There is more current, but
also a great deal more fish and marine life.
Tinian & Rota—Rota, the tip of a submerged mountain, rises more
than
36,000 feet from the floor of
the Marianas Trench, the deepest waters in the world. Visibility is around 200 feet. A
beautiful island with mountains, jungle, spacious parks and beaches, it offers the clearest
water in Micronesia, along with two world–class dive sites—Shoun Maru and Senhamon
Cave.
Shoun Maru—The Japanese freighter Shoun Maru wreck rests upright in the
sand at a depth of 110 feet. From the surface you can almost see its entire 393–foot length.
For underwater photographers, it is a dream come true! With most shipwrecks being found in
waters of limited visibility, one of the most difficult things to depict is the total look and feel
of the vessel. On this one, you can drop back and shoot the broad vistas, depicting its massive
size and bulk—diving the way it ought to be.
Senhamon Cave—An underwater grotto, with a dramatic archway entrance at
a depth of 40 feet, and an inner chamber illuminated by an overhead skylight. The excellent
visibility allows photographers to shoot dramatic silhouettes when the sun is streaming
through the skylight. Whitetip sharks are frequently encountered as they swim through the
cavern. Grouper, squirrelfish, and bronze sweepers are common, as are lobster hiding in the
crevices. A side exit is decorated with delicate sponges and lace corals, along with a
spectacular flame scallop that sports a vivid electric bolt pattern outlining its lips. The reef in
front of the cave is a breeding ground for horse conch—hundreds lie scattered throughout the
area. A tunnel, or alleyway system, runs throughout the reef, housing lobster, morays, and
whitetip sharks. Pelagic visitors spotted include tuna and marlin.
Pacific Gardenia, 3 nights * 2 dive days *
$328.
Pacific Islands Club, 3 nights * 2 dive days *
$445.

Ulithi Lagoon—"Micronesia's new Paradise for
Divers"—Completely undiscovered, untouched and not dived! Ulithi, 4th
largest lagoon in the world, until very recently, has not had a diver in the water. Why? It's
remote and isolated with a little non–profit Christian airline flying there. There has never
been a hotel or dive shop until now. The 30 islands in the lagoon are beautiful and idyllic.
Four are inhabited with approximately 1,000 warm, friendly people. Culture remains almost
unchanged with men preferring to dress in loin cloths called "thus" and women going topless
wearing skirts called "lavalavas." Their culture encourages each Ulithian to treat guests with
warmth and hospitality.
Name your own reef!—When you discover a new reef there, you may name it
and receive a certificate showing its location and the name you gave it.
USS Mississinewa—Sunk by a Japanese suicide submarine as she was berthed
in Ulithi Lagoon. Still missing at July 2002, there was a growing reward being offered to find
her. She was finally found and 1.95 million gallons of oil were removed. The Mississinewa is
large,
571–feet long with a beam of 75 feet. She sits on the bottom at 138 feet. She now is an unmarked
war
memorial.
Unlimited shore diving!—Less than 400 feet in front of the hotel is a wall that
runs nearly the length of the island, Falalop. Depth ranges 20–40 feet.
Turtle Island—Watch scores of turtles leave the water in the late afternoon,
dig a large hole and then lay eggs.
Ulithi Adventure Resort—has air conditioned rooms, very tastefully furnished,
and shower walls covered with beautiful rock tile. The lobby/lounge is inviting as well as the
outdoor, covered veranda for meals. The second story rooms have a very large balcony.
Ulithian staff at the hotel are warm and gracious, and sincerely want to please. They have
good command of the English language!
Ulithi Accommodations—
Ulithi Resort, 4 nights * 3 dive days *
$532.
Includes airport/hotel transfers * All prices are per person, double occupancy plus tax and subject
to
change.
